Dr. Marchese saved me from having shoulder surgery: About 5 years ago, I was diagnosed with shoulder impingment by 2 prominent orthopedic surgeons, both reccomended surgery to shave some of the shoulder bone away. Luckily enough I found Dr. Marchese, I remember him telling me that would involve a lot of work, and may be it would even feel a little worse but it would get better. I was fortunate enough to begin training with Ned about a year after my first child was born. Even though I was at my pre-pregnancy weight, I still didn't feel "in-shape." Did you ever wake up one morning, look in the mirror, and say I don't want to be fat anymore? That was me three years ago! Clearly, what I was doing, wasn't working all that well for me. I would lose the weight only to put it back on again. I decided to REALLY do something about it!
So, I enlisted the help of a trainer. I met Ned three years ago, and with his help started changing my exercise and eating habits. Suddenly, not only did my weight decrease, my exercise tolerance increased.! I lost 40 pounds and many inches. Not only did I take the weight off, I have kept it off. I went from couch potato who exercised occasionally, to someone who ran 15 road races last year! Including the Falmouth road race, which was a personal goal for me. This year I have already ran in 4 road races, and have shaved nearly a minute and a half off my previous best times! This year my goal is to race in a triathlon, which Ned is helping me train for. Ned's work outs are inventive and challenging, but not so overwhelming that I lost interest.
