Neurologically Based Chiropractic Care
The human entity is nothing short of astounding in its dichotomous complexity and simplicity.
That being said It is still a collection of receptors whose job it is to utilize the multiple systems of the body to report back to, as Alan G. Beardall, DC names it, the Intelligent Terminals of the Living Computer
When taking a Neurologically Based approach to Chiropractic care, the evaluation, including the initial and a brief one on every visit to monitor effectiveness, is used to determining which receptors can be used to affect the patient's specific condition.
The primary tool of Chiropractic is the spinal and extremity adjustment. This is accomplished when 'movement" is introduced into a specific vector or direction to access, and either enhance or suppress the receptor activity being targeted.
Contrary to archaic belief systems, this can be accomplished in many different ways, with both HVLA (high velocity low amplitude thrusts), and gentle (arthrostim, activator, drop peice, low grade mobilization) techniques. The science, art, and philosophy approach of chiropractic care is quickly becoming the adjunct treatment of choice for all walks of life ranging from elite athletes, to people suffering chronic neurological conditions.Chiropractic...often copied but never duplicated. Dry Needling

What are the benefits of dry needling? Dry needling provides relief for some muscular pain and stiffness. In addition, easing the trigger points may improve flexibility and increase range of motion. That's why this method is often used to treat sports injuries, muscle pain, and even fibromyalgia pain.
Our Doctors are duly certified by the Structure and Function Institute.
Therapeutic Exercise and Rehabilitation

What is therapeutic exercise?
We live in an information age where anyone can google exercises for their specific musculoskeletal malady. Unfortunately, this is akin to eating sushi from an Iowa highway rest stop...not a good idea.
In staying with our theme of SPECIFIC, each injury has a reason why it occurred known as the CAUSE. Each cause presents with it certain neuromuscular findings which must be corrected and then "worked on at home" or positively reinforced to achieve resolution. These sets of exercises, activities, activity of daily living changes, or lifestyle changes need to be followed to ensure an increase in positive frequency of firing and repetition to ensure therapeutic adaptation. In other words, help to make lasting changes and expedite recovery from what ails ya!

Neubie Device

The Neubie is a patented electrical stimulation unit created by Neufit.
Neubie stands for Neuro-Bio-Electric Stimulator, and it is unique in that it utilizes a pulsed direct current (not the traditional alternating current prevalent in the therapeutic professions) with very unique effects on the patient's soft tissues and central/peripheral nervous system. The Neubie is an active modality and is used to accelerate the healing process from a myriad of conditions including but not limited to strains, sprains, neuropathy, movement disorders, TBI, and many more. It is highly effective dealing with strength and conditioning, reflex re-patterning, brain activity, pain, neuromuscular re-education, and muscle lengthening (eccentric contractions).

Strength Training

Strength training involves the performance of physical exercises which are designed to improve strength and endurance, and cognitive ability. It is often associated with the use of weights but can take a variety of different forms to incorporate bands, kettlebells, agility drills, plyometric drills, exercise balls, TRX rigs, and core exercises.
Our training programs are tailored to the physical needs, neurological needs, and functional levels of each individual patient with 1 on 1, or small groups (2-3 people) supervision and instruction.
When properly performed, strength training can provide significant functional benefits and improvement in overall health and well-being, including increased bone, muscle, tendon, and ligament strength and resilience, improved joint function, reduced potential for injury, increased bone density, increased metabolism, increased fitness, improved brain activity (both cognition and balance), and improved cardiac function.

As mentioned above, the strength and conditioning programs can be enhanced with the use of the Neufit, and ARPwave devices. These devices when added to a complete strength and conditioning program can:
-
Enhance the dynamic warmup for efficiency and preparation of the athlete/client
-
Improve the efficiency and speed up the “learning” of agility drills
-
Safeguard the performance of plyometric activities through neuromuscular efficiency
-
Increase the input and output reactivity and efficiency of core training
-
Amplify the body awareness during traditional strength training exercises
-
Complement other recovery strategies offered at the clinic
ARPWave NeuroTherapy
A-Accelerated
R-Recovery
P-Performance

ARPWave therapies fall in line with the primary goal of the Marchese Sports Therapy approach of getting to the actual cause of the patient's injury/chief complaint. By getting to the origin of the patient's injury/chief complaint, it avoids chasing the "therapeutic tail" of symptoms and subjective complaints thus eliminating the central physiological source of the pain.

The ARPWave device is a patented, and proprietary high frequency bio-electrical system able to identify and eliminate the neurologically driven causes of the patient's injury/chief complaint. Amongst immediate benefits are included muscle activation, increased blood flow, neuromuscular re-education, nervous system entrainment, resolution of compensatory kinesiopathology (aberrant movement patterns), and enhancement of absorption of elastic energy for force dissipation throughout the musculoskeletal system. Its not the fall that injures you, it's the landing...especially if you cannot absorb force! ARPWave helps to restore that!
